Amoxicillin
Premix for medicated feed

VETRIMOXIN® 50 MATRIX Premix is a granulated form that can be mixed with the feed. Formulated with the CEVA MATRIX TECHNOLOGY®, patented by CEVA Animal Health, VETRIMOXIN® 50 MATRIX Premix provides protected amoxicillin for a full efficiency, a better accuracy in the dose determination for a better veterinary practice, as well as no dust emission during the mixing process to protect the workers in the feed-mill factories or the farmer.

COMPOSITION
Amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) ………………………………………50 g
Excipients (q.s.p)…………………………………………………………….100 g

PROPERTIES
Amoxicillin is an half synthetic penicillin. The main advantages of Amoxicillin are: broad spectrum antibiotic, bactericidal action enhanced, excellent diffusion and high concentration into all tissues. The pulmonary tropism is important. Amoxicillin is poorly metabolized. It is largely eliminated by the kidneys into the urine under its active form. Acting at a very early stage on microorganisms in their active multiplication phase, Amoxicillin is recommended for acute disease as first intention treatment.

VETRIMOXIN® 50 MATRIX Premix, with the Ceva Matrix Technology®(CMT), is a granulated premix. The CMT protects the molecule of amoxicillin from early destruction, hence guaranteeing a high level of effective amoxicillin during the shelf-life of the product. CMT allows a better homogeneity after mixing thanks to an adequate granulometry and thanks to a reduced rate of demixing. CMT produces granules; this generates a low dust level when mixing.

INDICATIONS
Poultry, pig:
Treatment of diseases due to germs sensitive to Amoxicillin.

Swine:
Control and treatment of respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida (Pasteurellosis), Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (Pleuropneumonia),Streptococcus suis (Streptococcosis) or Haemophilus parasuis (Glasser’s disease).

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals sensitive to penicillins.
Do not administer to rabbits and rodents.
Do not administer to layers producing eggs for human consumption.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Oral use. To administer in feed

Swine: 10-20 mg of amoxicillin/kg b.w. for 5 days i.e. 250 to 500 ppm in the feed obtained by inclusion of the premix at 0.5 to 1 kg/ton of feed. In feed, the incorporation rate has to be adjusted to the actual feed consumption of the animals to be treated in order to respect the dose per body weight.

Poultry: 10-20 mg of amoxicillin/kg b.w. for 5 days i.e. 100 to 200 ppm in the feed obtained by inclusion of th premix at 0.2 to 0.4 kg/ton of feed. In feed, the incorporation rate has to be adjusted to the actual feed consumption of the animals to be treated in order to respect the dose per body weight.
